It is easy to make your own website free – especially if you just need a simple one page website or squeeze page. However, creating an effective squeeze page is a different story. Before you begin, you need to be aware of what constitutes a GOOD squeeze page. Let me explain…
They say that you never get a second chance to make a first impression.
THAT is why your squeeze page (also called a Landing Page) is so important. It is where your visitors land when they click on your link or url. It is where they form their first impression of you and your business. And it is where the relationship between you and them first begins to develop.
The sole purpose of a squeeze page is to persuade your visitors to part with their names and email addresses. It should contain NOTHING else which might distract from that ONE compelling call to action.
Never try to SELL anything on your Landing Page. Your visitor is still “cold” – he/she has just discovered you and will not yet trust you enough to buy from you.
Your visitors have arrived there because they have a problem and they are looking for a solution to that problem.
What you need to do is offer them a good quality free product which will provide them with a solution to their problem.
So, here is what your visitors must see ABOVE THE FOLD on your squeeze page (ie they don’t have to scroll down to see these things):
• A compelling Headline.
• An Offer to provide a solution to their problem with a free product.
• An Opt-In Box (preferably in the top right hand corner).
Under that you can add a little content to remind your visitors what they are looking for – and another opt-in box at the end of the page.
